What is Fiji Mahogany?
Fiji Mahogany is a non-endangered timber, grown in sustainable forests in the tropical islands of Fiji. It has a straight grain and is usually free of voids and pockets, but character grains are available as well. The reddish-brown color, which darkens over time, has a beautiful reddish sheen when polished. Because of its excellent workability, Fiji Mahogany is ideal for most any custom wood project because it combines workability and stability with light weight, and can be carved to give fine detail.

What can Fiji Mahogany be used for?
Fiji Mahogany is easy to work with and can be used for many purposes. Some uses include fine furniture and cabinet making, outdoor furniture, interior trim, paneling, fancy veneers, musical instruments, plywood, turnery, and carving. It is sometimes used in flooring including light traffic, strip and parquet, and also as a decorative material in staircases. Fiji Mahogany is durable and resists wood rot, so it is ideal for boat construction.
